Lady Slipper Orchids are cultured in your own garden. Benefits of Lady Slipper Orchids are that they help to fight stress but they are considered an endangered species. These flowers are very pretty on the eye and look mysterious. They were the perfect models for a floral still life study. Rossi had a love of flowers and the ecological balance in nature. She was working on creating a floral still life and after looking at different types of flowers, she selected the Slipper Orchids (Lady Slipper Orchids). She was interested in capturing the right values of light and shadow on the petals and creating a still life that looked realistic. The pink Lady Slipper Orchids have petals that are different mostly in the center of the flower. This helped in creating a still life with good composition. She utilized the best of materials including Dick Blick Premier Cotton Canvas and Winsor/Newton, Utretch and Senelier handmade oil colors.
