Rossi has relatives with descendants from the Northern Ireland Giant Causeway Cliffs area in County Antrim, Ireland. Her relatives went back to Ireland to learn more about their roots and visited the Cliffs. Her artwork is a reflection of Northern Ireland and the Giant Causeway Cliffs. The inspiration of this beautiful oil painting was a photographic image of the Causeway Cliffs at dawn, called early light. The Giant Causeway cliffs were formed from basalt columns as a result of a giant volcanic eruption. She thought that the basal columns provided an interest to her composition. This is a scene of early morning light in County Antrim when a few rays of the sun streamed through the white blanket of clouds. The pillars from the Giants bring back memories of fables about magic and magical creatures.
