Artist statement
I paint because I want to show a part of my soul. I paint with color because it is a form of spiritual communication. In this clear aesthetic language, color is autonomous and unstable. I communicate the dynamic movement of hues by using repeated forms and geometric shapes. In this language of color, perception is relative. A significant inspiration in my work has been the optical and kinetic artists of the 1950s and 1960s, such as Carlos Cruz-Diez, Victor Vasarely, and Josef Albers. I aim to communicate the unlimited properties of color.
Back in Black, Back in Color are non-representational paintings that are an experimentation in abstract geometry. The materials used include oil paints, on stretched gallery-wrapped linen. Each painting is 16 x 20 inches.
Back in Black, Back in Color are part of my interior design collection.
