Rossi has friends that traveled to the areas of New Britain, New Guinea, and Mindanao. Rossi's inspiration was the rainbow Eucalyptus trees known as Eucalyptus deglupta, found in the area of Mindanao or Ceram. She was inspired by the variety of colors in the stringybark of these trees that resemble the colors of the rainbow. Blues, reds, yellows, orange, violets, and greens of their bark inspired Rossi to paint these beautiful trees. She used the impasto technique of adding large amounts of oil painting material to create the shape of the trees. She also used a Dick Blick Premier Cotton Canvas and Windsor and Newton, Utretch and Senelier handmade oil colors. She only ships artwork stretched right now. Delivery includes packaging materials and a Masonite-like board to protect the work.
