Art Restoration and Conservation

As paintings age, they undergo various changes in appearance. Grimy soot accumulates on the surface of paints. Paint breaks into a network of cracks. The varnish becomes yellow. The canvas may sag or become detached from the stretcher. Temperature and humidity fluctuations cause paint to lift and flake off. Improper storage or transportation accidents can cause dents, bulges, holes, and tears. Ornate frames are beautiful, large, and bulky unless you keep them in a museum-quality environment.   Happily, most paintings can be restored, even those that appear to be beyond help. Some restoration services include repairing, relining, face lining, frame restoration, cleaning, and frame repair.
